Pune homeowner planning guide

By Aanganshobha Interior Pvt Ltd · Revised 12 October 2026

Choose an interior designer by how well their process and completed work fit your project. A portfolio style, a low starting price or a “best” label alone cannot tell you who will handle drawings, purchases, installation and follow-up. Use the same questions with every firm you shortlist.

## 1. Define the project before requesting quotes

Write down the rooms, what you will retain, your storage needs, who uses the space and your preferred budget. Note possession status, any existing damage and the work you want completed before moving in. For a renovation, separate necessary repairs from cosmetic changes.

Our 1 BHK , 2 BHK and 3 BHK scope pages can help structure a whole-home discussion. For a single room, begin with the kitchen or wardrobe service page.

## 2. Review genuine projects and ask what they demonstrate

Ask which photographs show completed installations, which show concepts and which are reference images. Discuss the room layout, storage and details visible in the photographs. A finished photograph does not by itself verify an unseen material grade, a project price or a completion date.

Photograph from the existing portfolio. The business has confirmed this shared project set belongs to Wakad.

Explore the Wakad project photographs and full portfolio . Ask the team to explain a comparable scope for your home.

## 3. Find out who is responsible for each stage

Confirm who prepares drawings, approves changes, orders materials and coordinates work on site. Ask who you contact when a measurement differs from the drawing or a fitting needs attention. A firm’s manufacturing arrangements are one part of the process; its written responsibilities and the execution you can inspect matter too.

If you are comparing different execution models, see our turnkey company versus contractor comparison .

## 4. Compare an itemised scope

Ask for room-by-room quantities, the measurement basis, board and finish specifications, fittings, labour, taxes and exclusions. Agree which drawing revision the quote follows. Price ranges in a guide or an estimator are planning references; your measured quote establishes the amount and work offered.

Use the whole-home cost guide for budget assumptions and the kitchen guide for cabinetry measurement questions.

## 5. Check specifications with the actual supplier information

Record the exact board description, thickness, backing, finish, edge treatment and hardware model rather than relying on “premium” or “marine” as a complete specification. Ask for relevant manufacturer documentation and applicable warranty terms. The specification should match the use of that room and the selected product.

## 6. Agree on access, approvals and payments

Confirm possession and site readiness, measurement visits, design approvals, material selection, fabrication, installation and inspection. Ask your society about access, lift bookings, work hours and debris handling. Link payment milestones to defined deliverables and obtain written approval for variations. A deadline or penalty clause applies only if it is part of the agreement you actually sign.

## 7. Understand handover and aftercare

Record unfinished items and adjustments at inspection. Ask for the support contact, installation cover, manufacturer cover, exclusions and claim process. Keep invoices, the final scope and product information together so later enquiries can be handled clearly.

## Questions for your first consultation

- Which part of my project is included in your design and execution scope?
- Can you show a completed project that illustrates comparable work?
- What dimensions and selections are needed before an itemised quote?
- Which repairs, appliances and site work are excluded?
- Who approves changes, and how are their cost and timing recorded?
- What payment, delivery and aftercare terms will appear in the agreement?

## Common questions

### How do I compare two interior quotes?

Compare quantities, measurement basis, materials, fittings, labour, taxes and exclusions against the same approved drawings. Ask the bidder to explain any unmatched item.

### Should I choose only by the lowest starting price?

A starting price may cover a smaller scope or different specifications. Review the work included and the responsibilities accepted before judging the total.

### How much will my interior project cost?

The amount depends on measured quantities, product selections, installation and site work. Use planning guides to prepare questions, then request an itemised quotation for your own space.

## Discuss your project with the studio

Tell us the scope you are considering. The team can explain the measurements and selections needed for a quotation.
